Ericsson to reportedly abolish Nanjing R&D center in China

Asian Tech Press (SEP 09) -- According to media reports, Swedish multinational networking and telecommunications company Ericsson has made an internal announcement recently that it will spin off its R&D center in Nanjing, China, to its partner TietoEVRY on Nov. 1, 2021.

Ericsson headquarters has reportedly issued a layoff email to the Nanjing R&D center a few days ago, with almost the entire staff being dismissed. Employees can choose to transfer to Tieto, and those unwilling to transfer will take N+1 compensation to leave.

The Ericsson Nanjing R & D center was established in January 2001. The center is responsible for end-to-end GSM, WCDMA, LTE software development while increasingly undertaking the development of 5G product software, testing and application demonstration.

TietoEVRY Corporation is a Finnish IT software and service company that provides IT and product engineering services, with approximately 24,000 employees in around 20 countries.
