E-cigarette giant RLX launches first pods recycling program

Asian Tech Press (Sep 3) -- E-cigarette giant RLX Technology Inc (RLX: New York) launched its pods recycling program at the launch on Thursday, the first such program released by a Chinese e-cigarette brand.

Guo Guangdong, head of compliance and public communication at RLX, introduced that the program will join hands with the China Siyuan Foundation for Poverty Alleviation to recycle empty cartridges for cement production.

The iron resources in the empty pods can be used to increase the solidity of the cement. And the cement produced from the recycled e-cigarette cartridges will be used for rural revitalization, building toilets and roads in villages, etc.

In terms of recycling methods, RLX plans to arrange recycling bins in stores, and users can put in their own empty cartridges of RELX e-cigarettes or other brands of e-cigarettes. At first, about 6,000 recycling bins will be placed in Beijing and ten cities across China.
