Douyin (Chinese version of TikTok) announced that it has upgraded its underage protection measures. Real-name users under 14 years old will enter the teenage mode directly after being informed and cannot exit after entering.

For real-name users aged 14-18, Douyin will provide stricter security protection in content recommendations, social networking, and search, such as prohibiting the display of personal public information other than avatars and nicknames to strangers.

The measures will be implemented in June.
