Asia Tech Wire (June 14) -- Chinese battery maker Eve Energy has taken a stake in a U.S. joint venture between Cummins, Daimler Truck and Paccar.

Cummins' zero-carbon emission business brands Accelera, Daimler Truck and Paccar announced earlier this month that they have completed the formation of a joint venture called Amplify Cell Technologies.

The new company, which aims to localize battery cell production and the battery supply chain in the U.S., has appointed Kel Kearns as CEO.

Amplify will begin construction of a 21 gigawatt-hour (GWh) plant in Marshall County, Mississippi, with production scheduled to begin in 2027.

Accelera, Daimler Trucks and Peca each own 30% of the joint venture. Eve Energy, a technology partner, has a 10% stake.
