China's game market revenue down 4.21% in April

Asia Tech Wire (May 24) -- Revenue in China's game market fell 4.21% in April from the previous month, a report showed.

The Game Publishing Committee of the China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association (CADPA) released its monthly report on China's game industry in April 2024 on Friday, which showed that the market revenues in April 2024 amounted to 22.432 billion yuan, a drop of 4.21% compared with that in March, and 0.27% from the same period last year.

Among them, the actual sales revenue of the mobile game market amounted to 15.905 billion yuan, down 6.18% month-on-month and 1.93% year-on-year.

In addition, actual sales revenue of the PC game market for the month amounted to 564.2 billion yuan, up 2.06% month-on-month and 1.47% year-on-year.

According to the report, the actual sales revenue of self-developed Chinese games amounted to $1.418 billion in overseas markets for the month, down 0.65% month-on-month and up 7.03% year-on-year.
