Asian Tech Press (Nov 7) -- US artificial intelligence company OpenAI said on Monday that ChatGPT saw 100 million weekly active users.

At its first developer conference OpenAI DevDay, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced that ChatGPT now has 100 million weekly active users.

The company now has more than 2 million developers, including more than 92% of Fortune 500 companies, since releasing ChatGPT and Whisper models via API in March.

OpenAI released the data alongside details of a number of new features, including a platform for building customized versions of ChatGPT to help with specific tasks.

At the same time, the company also introduced GPT-4 Turbo, a new model that has knowledge of world events up to April 2023, with a maximum of the equivalent of more than 300 pages of text in a single prompt.

OpenAI has also lowered its prices for developers. “GPT-4 Turbo input tokens are 3x cheaper than GPT-4 at $0.01 and output tokens are 2x cheaper at $0.03," the company said.
