Asia Tech Wire (Sep 4) -- Cathay Pacific does not expect to have to cancel additional flights due to an A350 engine issue.
Cathay Pacific said Wednesday that it is making good progress on repairs to its Airbus A350 fleet.
The Hong Kong carrier said six of the 15 A350s that needed to have their engine fuel lines replaced have been repaired and are ready for operation.
Cathay Pacific said it will continue to repair the remaining nine aircraft and expects to resume operations on or before Saturday, September 7th.
The carrier expects to cancel an additional 11 pairs of round-trip short-haul flights between Sept. 5 and 7, following the previously announced cancellations.
This means that Cathay Pacific has canceled a total of 45 pairs of round-trip flights between September 2nd and 7th.
Nonetheless, Cathay Pacific expects that no additional cancellations will be necessary.
