Asia Tech Wire (Oct 29) -- Comac, the maker of China's homegrown passenger jet C919, has announced the opening of its Asia-Pacific office in Singapore.
According to a press release, Cao Zhongming, China's ambassador to Singapore, Pee Beng Kong, executive vice president of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and Tan Wangeng, director of Comac, jointly inaugurated the Comac Asia-Pacific office on Monday.
Tan said that in order to be closer to its customers in the Asia-Pacific region and globally, Comac chose to set up its Asia-Pacific office in Singapore, continuing to provide comprehensive services and protection to its customers.
Comac chairman He Dongfeng revealed at an event last week that since December 2022, the company has delivered a total of 11 C919 aircraft, which have operated 13,000 hours and carried 700,000 passengers.
China's three major airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Air China and China Southern Airlines, have all operated the C919.
