Asian Tech Press (Nov 5) -- Chinese automaker BYD Co Ltd (BYDDF: OTC US) will reportedly supply electric bus parts to the Kenya-based electric vehicle startup founded by a former senior manager of Apple's self-driving electric car team.

BasiGo, an EV startup, announced Tuesday that it will use parts from China's BYD to sell assembled electric buses locally, the report said.

The Kenyan EV startup also revealed that its buses will be available in 25 and 36-seater capacities, with a range of about 250 kilometers, enough for daily commuting.

Jit Bhattacharya, CEO and co-founder of BasiGo, is said to have worked at Apple as a senior manager of Project Titan, its secret electric vehicle project.
