Asia Tech Wire (Sep 19) -- Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said Wednesday that the company will launch a furlough plan in the coming days to save cash during a strike by unionized machinists that began last week.
It will affect U.S.-based executives, managers and employees, and those selected will take a week's vacation every four weeks while retaining benefits.
Boeing's chief executive and other senior executives will take pay cuts during the strike, but Ortberg did not specify the exact amount.
