Sep.3,2024

Asia Tech Wire (Sep 3) -- Bain Capital has made a counter-offer of 600 billion yen ($4.1 billion) to Japanese systems developer Fuji Soft in a bid against KKR, according to Nikkei.

KKR announced in August that it intends to offer to buy all of Fuji Soft's outstanding shares at 8,800 yen apiece, bringing the total deal to about 560 billion yen ($3.8 billion).

Bain Capital offered a bid of about 9,200 to 9,300 yen per share, about 5% higher than KKR's offer.

The U.S. buyout fund intends to proceed with the acquisition with the consent of Fuji Soft's management.
