Asia Tech Wire (May 29) -- Rumors surfaced on Wednesday that Baidu may release the next version of its AI large model, Ernie Bot 5.0, during the Baidu World 2025.

Currently, Ernie Bot 4.0 is the latest version of the AI model with four core capabilities: understanding, generation, logic and memory.

Ernie Bot debuted in March 2019, iterated to version 2.0 in July of the same year, followed by the release of version 3.0 in July 2021 and an upgrade to version 4.0 in October 2023.

As of now, Baidu has not given a response to the rumor.
