German automobile manufacturer sees electric cars occupying half of the global premium-car market by 2030.
The company expects fuel cars to cede about half of the global premium-car market to electric vehicles by 2030, highlighting a significant decline in the dominance of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles as the shift to battery power accelerates.
Audi CEO Markus Duesmann said Thursday that hybrid cars, which blend conventional and battery power, are driving the shift, while purely electric vehicles will dominate after 2030.
