Panasonic finds other automakers to reduce reliance on Tesla

Panasonic’s outgoing CEO, Kazuhiro Tsuga says the company will produce batteries, which are more compatible with electric vehicles made by other global automakers. It can help Panasonic reduce its heavy reliance on Tesla.

Tesla’s purchase price is 23 percent lower than the industry average. Tesla buys batteries from three suppliers—Panasonic, LG and Ningde Times—at an average price of $142/kWh, below the industry average of $186.
