Asia Tech Wire (Oct 24) -- Arm, the British chip company owned by Japan's SoftBank Group, said it is fully prepared for the hearing about its dispute with Qualcomm in December.
Earlier news broke that Arm was planning to terminate its chip design license to Qualcomm due to a licensing dispute.
Arm's latest response said, "As a result of Qualcomm's repeated and serious violations of the Arm license agreement, Arm had no choice but to take formal action to require Qualcomm to correct its violations or face the consequences of termination of the agreement."
"This action is critical to protecting the unparalleled ecosystem that Arm has built hand-in-hand with our extremely valued partners over the past 30-plus years," the company said.
Arm also said it is fully prepared for the December court hearing and is confident that the court will rule in Arm's favor.
For the past two years, Arm has been suing Qualcomm to redraw the patent license fees between the two parties.
This case will be heard in December at a court in the U.S. state of Delaware.
