Asian Tech Press (Nov 22) -- Apple's iPhone 13 series does not support China Telecom's 2G/3G networks, while China's other two major telecom service providers, China Mobile and China Unicom, are not affected.
The announcement, published in early October, sparked a lot of discussion on Chinese social media Weibo on Monday. And its removal means that in the future, China Telecom users will simply lose their connection in case of bad signal and no 4G/5G networks.
The iPhone 13 series has removed CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900MHz) from the network standard, meaning that support for China Telecom's 2G/3G networks has been removed.
