Asian Tech Press (Sep 10) -- Apple Inc's electric vehicle project ushered in a new head -- Kevin Lynch, Apple Watch and health executive, after the former chief of the car project jumped to Ford.
It is reported that Lynch began to participate in the car project in July to help develop the software.
This is also Apple's car project Project Titan recently adjusted the person in charge. With the change in charge, the focus of Apple's car project has changed. Apple may no longer plan to work with other automakers to launch self-driving electric cars, according to reports earlier Thursday.
Lynch resigned as chief technology officer of tool developer Adobe Inc. to join Apple in 2013. While at Adobe, Lynch had an official response to Apple's decision to exclude Flash from iOS.
After taking charge of Apple's car project, Lynch still reported to Apple Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams, rather than to John Giannandrea, the head of artificial intelligence who was asked by the company to oversee Apple's car project last year.
Not long ago, Apple also hired two former Mercedes-Benz engineers to join Apple's "Special Projects Group", internally codenamed "Titan", one of Apple's most secretive projects.
