Asian Tech Press (SEP 10) -- Apple has rejected "Fortnite" developer Epic Games' request to reinstate its account on the Korean iOS platform.

The recent passage of the law forces Apple and Google to allow alternate in-app payment systems. Earlier today, Epic asked Apple to reinstate its developer account to re-release the iOS version of Fortnite in the South Korean region after completing the amendment to the law. However, Apple again denied its request.

This South Korean legislation is expected to take effect on or about Sept. 15. But Apple continues to say that it is not obligated to approve any developer's account application even if the law takes effect. Instead, Epic Games must agree to comply with Apple's App Store review guidelines, or it will not consider any requests to reinstate Epic Games developer accounts.

In addition, legal experts and developers worldwide are waiting for the U.S. courts to rule on Epic Games' antitrust lawsuit against Apple.
