Asian Tech Press (Feb 22) -- Apple is reportedly working with a South Korean outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) company to develop chip modules and packages for its "Apple Car".

So-called "Apple Car", is U.S. smartphone giant Apple Inc.'s electric vehicles product. Catapulted internally as Project Titan, Apple's electric vehicle project is one of the company's most secretive projects.

Korean industry media outlet THE ELEC reported that the chip module can operate the autopilot function, just like those used by Tesla.

Such chips are responsible for AI computations, usually integrating a neural processing unit, CPU, GPU, memory, and camera interface among other features.

The project was launched last year and is expected to be completed by 2023.
