Asian Tech Press (Apr. 11) -- Apple Inc. confirmed Monday that it has begun production of its best-selling iPhone 13 smartphone in India.

Several of Apple's suppliers have already been producing some high-end iPhone models in India, with Foxconn making the iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and now iPhone 13, while Wistron Corp. is now responsible for the iPhone SE and iPhone 12.

ATP previously reported that Apple is expected to begin production of the iPhone 13 in April at a Foxconn plant in Sriperumbudur near Chennai.

The iPhone 13 produced in India was offered not only to the Indian home market, but also for the first time to other markets, such as the U.S.

The best-selling iPhones in the local market are the iPhone 11 as well as the iPhone 12, and the latest iPhone 13 accounts for only about 20% of iPhone sales in India.
