According to press releases, processor maker AMD and foundry TSMC have joined forces to accelerate the development and mass production of advanced processes for microchip architecture processors in the second half of the year.
AMD has booked TSMC's 5nm and 3nm capacity for the next two years and is expected to launch a 5nm Zen4 processor in 2022 and a 3nm Zen5 processor in 2023-2024 - by which time it will be TSMC's largest customer for 5nm and 3nm High-Performance Computing (HPC). (Jiemian)
