Asia Tech Wire (July 31) -- Amazon on Tuesday sued Finnish telecom giant Nokia in a U.S. court for allegedly infringing on a dozen of Amazon's patents related to cloud computing technology.

In its complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, Amazon said Nokia improperly used Amazon's cloud computing services to support its own cloud offerings.

The U.S. tech giant is asking the court to issue an injunction to stop Nokia's alleged infringement and seek an undisclosed amount of damages from Nokia.

Nokia, for its part, said in a statement that it would "review these matters and defend ourselves vigorously in court."

Nokia sued Amazon last year in the U.S., India and Europe, accusing the latter of unauthorized use of Nokia's video-related technologies in its streaming services and devices.
