Asian Tech Press (Mar. 4) -- Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd is about to launch its first high-end intelligent electric car "Zhiji L7".

The "Zhiji L7" went into production on Monday at SAIC's smart factory in Lingang New Area, southeast Shanghai, and is expected to be launched on March 29, with deliveries starting in April.

The three companies, Alibaba Group, China's largest automaker SAIC Motor Corp Ltd and Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Development Co., jointly established a new user-based automotive science and innovation company, Zhiji Auto, in December 2020.

The "Zhiji L7" was first unveiled by Zhiji Auto in April last year, which is also the first strategic model when Alibaba officially entered the automotive field.
