Asia Tech Wire (July 5) -- Alibaba on Friday announced the launch of China's first AI picture book tool for autistic children.

The Chinese tech giant plans to provide customized AI picture book services to families with autistic children for free through the tool, called "AI Chasing Stars".

The tool's name partially derives from the nickname for autistic children, "children of the stars."

Alibaba said the AI tool is based on its self-developed Modelscope-Agent framework, calls on a number of services from its Tongyi Qianwen large language models, and can generates everything from a one-sentence story synopsis to a complete audiobook.
