French video game company Ubisoft announced on Thursday that Assassin's Creed Shadows, a new game in the Assassin's Creed franchise, has been delayed once again, with its release date pushed back from February 14th to March 20th.
This is the second delay for the game, which had an initial release date of November 12, 2024.
Ubisoft said that the extra month of development time will allow the team to "better incorporate the player feedback gathered over the past three months."
Additionally, Ubisoft said that following a strategy and execution review, the company has "appointed advisors to review and pursue various transformational strategic and capitalistic options to extract the best value for stakeholders."
Ubisoft is one of the few studios that is not using a switch to Unreal Engine 5 for its upcoming titles, with Assassin's Creed Shadows using Ubisoft's own AnvilNext engine.
Ubisoft said the reason for dropping Unreal Engine 5 is that it limits artistic freedom.
