Apple may delay the release of a bezel-less iPhone, according to the latest market news.
For a long time, Apple's former chief designer Jonny Ive has been setting the ultimate goal of iPhone design as "a single sheet of glass", i.e. completely eliminating bezels.
A new supply chain report shows that Apple had hoped to achieve this goal on the iPhone 18, but it seems unlikely.
According to TheElec, Apple had hoped to realize a zero-bezel design on at least one iPhone 18 model in 2026, but its display suppliers have been having trouble meeting Apple's requirements.
It is reported that at Apple's request, Samsung Display and LG Display are developing bezel-less OLED screens for iPhones.
However, because the current level of technological development is not yet sufficient to completely eliminate all bezels, the prospect of releasing a zero-bezel OLED iPhone in 2026 is still unclear.
A Korean industry insider said, "If Apple wants to launch a zero-bezel OLED iPhone in 2026, we should have completed technical discussions with domestic panel companies, but we are still in discussions."
